Tideview Terrace Hair Salon Re-opening Plan

Below is a detailed plan to re-open hair salon services at Tideview Terrace operated by Tammy Brophy. This includes what measures are being taken to ensure a safe environment that reduces the risk of infectious disease transmission while providing a pleasant salon experience for the residents.

1. Tideview Terrace will be providing infection control education to the service provider.

2. Signage will be posted about COVID 19 symptoms.

3. Signage will be posted about proper hand hygiene.

4. Residents are screened daily for COVID-19 symptoms and their temperature taken twice/day in their house. If a resident is exhibiting any symptoms, the beauty salon will be contacted and their appointment cancelled.

5. The service provider will keep a log of all appointments for contact tracing purposes.

6. The salon will be open to Tideview Terrace residents only. No outside visitors are permitted to make appointments.

7. Only one resident will be permitted in the salon at a time.

8. The service provider and resident will be required to wear a mask during the appointment.

9. The resident’s hands must be sanitized with an alcohol based sanitizer with a minimum of 70% alcohol content upon arrival for their service.

10. The high touch surfaces in the salon will be disinfected between appointments with a hard surface disinfectant with evidence for use against COVID 19 by Health Canada in addition to regular cleaning.

11. An ultraviolet sanitizer will be used for all combs and brushes between appointments.

12. A garbage can with a lid will be used and emptied daily.

13. Towels and capes will be laundered daily and a clean cape provided to each resident for the duration of their service.

14. The service provider will change their smock between residents and have them laundered daily.

15. When performing services such as perms or colour, the service provider must wear a face shield while washing the resident’s hair.

16. The service provider’s face shield must be sanitized with an alcohol based cleaner after each use.

17. Residents should arrive to their appointment with clean hair (unless receiving a perm or colour) to reduce exposure. The service provider will make an effort to schedule residents on or near their regularly scheduled bath day to help facilitate this.
